Shoot ProRes RAW on the Nikon Z 6 + Ninja V with Rah Sharma

In this Atomos Academy class creator Rah Sharma educates us about the amazing Apple ProRes RAW filming capabilities of the Nikon Z 6 and Atomos Ninja V HDR monitor-recorder. He walks us through how to set up the combination to shoot RAW over HDMI. He then shows how the system can be kept relatively compact and hand-holdable, or added to a gimbal for great moving shots. Lastly Rah demonstrates how to quickly bring the ProRes RAW footage into Apple Final Cut Pro X and get it to a good starting point for further creative grading.

The Z 6 + Ninja V combination will allow users to experience the full quality and flexibility of RAW video shooting with a full-frame sensor, recording in stunning 12-bit 4K UHD resolution. Together they form an affordable state-of-the-art cinema setup – which is also the first at any price to feature full-frame RAW video with in-body image stabilization, opening up new possibilities for shooting handheld RAW video.
