ProRes RAW workflow for Sony FS cameras in FCP X with Alister Chapman

In this academy tutorial Sony Independent certified expert Alister Chapman demonstrates how to edit Apple ProRes RAW clips from the Atomos Shogun 7 or Shogun Inferno and Sony FS series cameras, using Apple Final Cut Pro X. Step-by-step he walks through the process of ingesting and working with the files in an easy to follow manner.

Using ProRes RAW gives you creative control of your video images in post-production by combining the flexibility of RAW video with the real-time performance of ProRes. The format has incredible latitude that extends details in the brightest and darkest parts of the image — making ProRes RAW ideal for HDR and SDR (Rec.709) workflows.

To see how to set up compatible Sony cameras to shoot ProRes RAW see Alister’s previous Academy class here.
