Camera control
Using intuitive, on-screen sliders you can adjust white balance, lens aperture, shutter speed/angle and ISO. A red edge display indicates when the camera is recording internally, whether triggered by the camera or from the Ninja RAW. Control is available for most Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Panasonic, and Sony mirrorless cameras over USB‑C, and all Z CAM E2 series models (LANC cable required, purchased separately). Check camera compatibility.
Touch to focus
Tap the Ninja RAW touchscreen to have the camera automatically focus on your point of interest. Touch to focus takes advantage of camera focus modes such as focus tracking for effortless control and sharp images. Check camera compatibility.
50% brighter 1500 nit screen
The Ninja RAW touchscreen is 50% brighter than its predecessors, and is packed with pro monitoring features like EL Zone™ false color, focus peaking, waveform, RGB parade, vectorscope and more! All Ninja models feature the Atomos OS combined with the 5-inch touchscreen interface to give you far more control of your shot, displaying much more detail than your camera’s built‑in display.

Record to CFexpress
Ninja RAW takes performance to the next level with support for high-speed CFexpress Type B cards (sold separately). This cutting-edge media format gives you faster read/write speeds, higher resolutions, and more reliable recording – ideal for demanding ProRes RAW workflows.
Minimum performance / certification requirements apply. View compatible media.

USB-C
Ninja RAW has three USB‑C ports, one of which is used to power the device. The other USB‑C ports enable the direct attachment of external storage media or network adaptors. It’s a future-ready addition designed to keep pace with content creation needs.

Tally light
Adding a tally light to Ninja RAW is a simple but powerful update that is especially useful in live production setups. A tally light provides a clear visual indicator of when the camera is recording or broadcasting. When the Ninja is recording, the light automatically turns red (live/on-air). If the tally light is green it indicates to the talent that the camera/monitor-recorder is on preview or standby.
Unique cable locking system
Atomos has developed a unique and rugged locking ecosystem to maintain a secure grip on connected HDMI and USB-C cables. Ninja RAW comes with special brackets to facilitate this, and a USB-C locking cable. With Atomos locking cables you get the most robust cable system available today.
Flexible power options
USB-C PD
Ninja RAW support USB-C Power Delivery (PD), which allows the device to be powered directly from a compatible USB-C source, including power banks, and wall adapters.
NP-F battery
NP-F batteries are ideal for field use—powering your monitor-recorder through extended shoots without the need for frequent swaps or complex power setups. (Purchased separately)
Battery eliminator
Compatible with all Atomos monitors that accept an NP-F Sony L-Series type battery. Requires the separately available Atomos Locking AC Power Adapter to provide power. (Purchased separately)
Resolution and frame rates
Ninja RAW supports a wide range of resolutions and frame rates, depending on the output of your camera: up to 120fps at HD resolution, up to 60fps at 4K UHD/DCI and up to 30fps at 6K UHD/DCI resolution. Shooting in higher frame rates is typically used for slow motion playback or fast action scenes.
Choice of codecs
Ninja RAW comes with Apple ProRes, Avid DNx and H.265/H.264 pre‑activated, so you can start shooting immediately with the codec best suited to your project.

LOG formats
All Atomos monitor-recorders support a wide variety of LOG profiles from the most popular camera manufacturers, including Sony, Canon, Panasonic, Nikon, Fujifilm, ARRI, and RED. Being able to work with LOG profiles allows for greater dynamic range and more flexibility in color grading during post‑production.
Professional monitoring tools
Ninja RAW offers a comprehensive suite of simple, one-touch monitoring tools for focus, framing, and exposure, including focus peaking, zoom (2:1, 1:1), zebras, false color (including ARRI and EL Zoneâ„¢), frame guides, SMPTE safe areas, grid markers, waveforms, an RGB parade, vectorscope, and flexible 3D/1D LUT support with profile and preset options (including .cube file uploads). Additionally, Ninja provides anamorphic de-squeeze monitoring to correct the ratio for anamorphic lens setups.

EL Zone
Ninja RAW supports EL Zone, a professional false color exposure tool that helps you see exactly how bright or dark different parts of your image are. Unlike traditional false color systems that use rough IRE ranges, EL Zone assigns specific colors to exact exposure values—based on stops of light, in the same way your camera sees exposure. It’s a precise and consistent way to expose your image correctly every time.

LUTs
A Ninja monitor-recorder receives LOG signals from the camera and offers real-time LUT (Look-Up Table) preview to approximate what the final graded image will look like in Rec.709 — all while recording in high-quality ProRes, DNxHR, or ProRes RAW. Custom LUTs (.cube files) can be loaded from the CFexpress card or SSD and used in conjunction with the Ninja’s built-in monitoring tools for precise exposure control.

High Dynamic Range
You can view 10+ stops of dynamic range from a LOG / PQ / HLG signal. Ninja’s unique HDR monitoring features help you simplify the complexities of shooting LOG and HDR, because it is possible to replicate post-production workflows when it matters most – while you are shooting.
SegmentPro
Segment/split long recordings into smaller, user-defined chunks, all without dropping a frame. With SegmentPro you can fit your files into any workflow. It’s easier to share smaller files, and safer too: if you lose a big file, you’ve lost everything. Working with smaller files minimizes this risk.
