AtomOS 11.04.02 Firmware Release Notes

Ninja V+

Welcome to AtomOS 11

AtomOS 11 is the first major redesign of our bespoke operating system since 2018. It was first revealed with the launch of the Atomos Ninja, Ninja Ultra, and subsequently the Shogun and Shogun Ultra that followed soon after.

Beyond the re-design and performance optimizations, AtomOS 11 also brought exciting new features to our latest Atomos Monitor-Recorders. Those features can now be unlocked on your Ninja V+ by purchasing a feature activation token via the MyAtomos portal.

Visit my.atomos.com or scan the QR code below for more information on how to get the most out of your Ninja V+ today.

Note: Upgrading your Ninja V+ from AtomOS 10 to 11.04.02 is irreversible. Due to various optimizations across the entire AtomOS firmware architecture, it should be noted that once updated to this latest firmware, it will not be possible to revert your Ninja V+ to any firmware version prior to AtomOS 10.94.00.

Moving forward, there will be no further updates to AtomOS 10, so updating to AtomOS 11 and above will be the only method to get updates for future ProRes RAW compatible cameras and general bug fixes.

Installation Instructions

Atomos recommends that your Ninja V+ is plugged into mains power before commencing the firmware update.

  1. Insert a compatible, formatted SSD into the Docking Station.
  2. Unzip the downloaded file and copy the ATOMNJP.FW file to the root of the SSD.
  3. Eject the SSD (according to operating system guidelines).
  4. Insert the SSD into the Ninja V+.
  5. If you have an Atomos Connect accessory ensure this is connected to your device before powering on, as the module firmware will also need to be updated as part of this FW release.
  6. Power on the Ninja V+ and the firmware update process will begin automatically.
  7. If your Ninja V+ is already powered on, you will be prompted to perform the firmware update when a drive containing new firmware is inserted.
  8. Once the update is complete, your Ninja V+ will power itself down.
  9. Power your Ninja V+ back on and the device will automatically start updating the Atomos Connect accessory.
  10. To verify if the firmware update was successfully completed, navigate to the main menu and scroll to the info tab.

Note: Once firmware 11.04.02 is successfully installed on the Ninja V+, the unit may reboot to update the Atomos Connect firmware. Do not interrupt the firmware installation process.
