When a monitor has insufficient colors to reproduce a scene, artifacts like color banding is the result. The Flame series features 10-bit monitor processing, taking the total number of colors from 16.7 million for standard 8-bit panels to 1.07 billion in the case of the Flame, ensuring smooth color transitions on screen.
AtomHDR is a proprietary image processing technology that lets you shoot with the high brightness range of your camera’s Log profile while maintaining vibrant true-to-life colors. Conventional monitors lack this capability, displaying the detail of Log but with a washed out image that makes judging exposure difficult.
For regular shooting with standard dynamic range switch to Rec709 mode and use the brightness slider to take advantage of the 1500 nit panel. For gimbal operators and those that shoot outdoors this means hood free outdoor monitoring due to the high bright monitor.
The build of the new Flame series goes to a new level with built-in armor protection and a revamped power management system that includes dual continuous power with hot swapping capability, a DC to D-Tap coiled cable for connection to larger battery systems and a new 3x fast charger.
